Misty Mountain Farm is a small, family business currently managed by the husband and wife team of Charles and Leanna Ross – with the occasional help of their toddler daughter!
The business started in Amissville, Virginia 30 years ago as a means for Leanna’s mother, Linda Witt, to fund her fiber arts hobby. Over the years, the business has grown substantially and has become a well-known supplier of fiber arts supplies and equipment at major shows and festivals such as the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival and the New York State Sheep & Wool Festival.
Linda officially retired in 2017, when she handed over the reigns to Leanna and Charlie, who now run the business full-time. Leanna is an expert yarn-dyer who founded Blue Ridge Yarns in 2005. As an artisan, wholesale supplier of small-batch, hand-painted yarn, Leanna’s yarns have been carried in yarn shops all across the nation. Now, Blue Ridge Yarns and Misty Mountain Farm have joined forces, and Misty Mountain Farm is the exclusive retailer for all Blue Ridge Yarns products.
From fiber to yarn and everything in between, we like to think of ourselves as a mom-and-pop “big box” store for all your fiber arts needs: We carry a diverse selection of products, offered at a great value with personal customer service.
